General Description: Located off of US 460, just west of Appamattox, Virginia, Paradise Lake Family Campground is a medium sized campground in an old pasture. The sites surround an open field with a small private lake for swimming and fishing. The campground is primarily for seasonal campers on two sides of the field with sites for transient guests on the third side. About half of these sites are pull-through and all have full hookups. Amenities include restroom/showers, swimming pool, propane, laundry facilities, camp store, and free wifi.
Impressions:
1) The campground is located about half a mile from the highway along a private paved road that is in need of repairs. It is surrounded by woods, quiet, and secluded. The back-in sites backed up to the woods, while the pull-through sites are in between two gravel roads. This made for easy access to the pull-through sites. There is not much room between the sites, but it is not quite a “parking lot”. There is enough room for a picnic table at each site.
2) The restroom/shower/laundry room near the transient sites is old, but relatively clean and everything functions well.
3) The staff were friendly and helpful, especially since we had a problem with our RV that required receiving a package in the mail.
