General Description: Located on the shore of Lake Guntersville in northern Alabama, Honeycomb Campground is a relatively renovated campground owned by the TVA. The campground is made up of 113 RV sites, most with electric and water hookups. In addition there is a dump station and pump service available. Other amenities include restroom/showers, a camp store, boat docks to tie up your boat or to fish from, and a sandy swimming area on the lake.
1) Unlike many of the federal campgrounds we have stayed in, Honeycomb Campground has more the feel of a commercial RV park. Sites were close by nicely maintained. The campstore was well stocked and had most of what you could need in the way of camping supplies and groceries.
2) All of the sites are back-in, with some along the shores of the lake and others placed back into the woods. Our site was on the lake shore which gave us a great view of the lake and made up for the fact that the sites were fairly small.
3) The restrooms were modern and cleaned every day, although there was still problems with the toilets stopping up over the weekend when the campground was virtually full.
4) The staff were very friendly and helpful and we had quite a conversation with the camphost that assisted us with backing the RV onto the site.
