General Description: Poverty Point Reservoir State Park is on the shore of a 2,700 acre lake that offers visitors a variety of water sports activities and a scenic backdrop for migratory fowl during the spring and fall. Due to the proximity of the many wildlife refuges in the area, numerous sightings of black bear have been made in the park. The campgrounds consist of 53 campsites, 45 with full hookups. Other amenities include playground, lake swimming, and marina.
1) This is VERY nice state park with large, spacious sites and well maintained grounds. The full hookups sites have paved pads, picnic table, and fire rings.
2) The bathroom/shower facilities are very nice and relatively new with modern features and nice tile patterns on the wall. The staff were very nice and helpful with directions to local shopping and attractions.
