Pendleton Bend Park – COE

Location: Dumas, Arkansas

Webpage: Corps of Engineers

General Description: Pendleton Bend Park is a Corps of Engineer campground on the Arkansas River on US 165.  It is located in the lush alluvial bottomland forest of eastern Arkansas.  The campground consists of 31 sites with electric and water hookups.  Amenities include fishing, boating and birding opportunities.

1) While it is a small campground, Pendleton Bend is well maintained with spacious sites.  Most of the campsites are back-in, however, they have concrete pads and paved roads that are easy to back an RV into.  The premium sites have a view of the Arkansas River, whereas, most of the sites are away from the river in the wooded area.

2) The bathrooms are clean and adequate for our purposes, although a bit dated.  There is only a single bathroom in the campground so when the toilets get clogged your only option is a terrible pit-toilet at the boat ramp.  I don’t think they ever step foot in these bathrooms.
