General Description: Twin Dikes Park is a Corps of Engineers Campground on the south shore of Lake Sam Rayburn. The park contains 46 campsites, 6 with full hookups and 11 with electric and water hookups. Amenities include bathroom/shower facilities, dump station, and boat ramp. Lake Sam Rayburn is the largest man made lake in Texas covering 114,400 acres. With nearly 750 miles of shoreline there are many opportunities to enjoy the lake.
1) Twin Dikes Park is a very nice Corps of Engineers Campground with paved sites and covered picnic tables. All of the sites are quite large with lots of space and good views of Lake Sam Rayburn. This circle was full hookups, while the other area was electric and water only. It was surprising that in December this campground was not busier then it was. During the week there were only two RVs in our circle. Even during the weekend it was less than a third full.
2) While there are two bathroom/shower facilities in the campground, the bathroom on the circle we camped at were closed for repairs. Thus we had to drive over to the other camping area to access a bathroom. This bathroom was clean and modern and except for having to drive to it, was perfectly adequate for our needs.
