General Description: Located on a working farm, Greenville Farm Family Campground is a good location for many historic locations to the southwest of Washington D.C. Visitors are welcomed to wander the farm and visit the animals at their leisure. The campground has sites ranging from tent sites to full hookup sites for RVs. Many of the RV sites in the open field are pull through sites, while those in the wooded area are back-in. The campground has two restroom/showers facilities, laundry facilities, swimming pool, playground, and two ponds for fishing that don’t require a fishing license.
1) The campground is located just a few miles from the Manassas Battlefield, which was an important reason for selecting it. It is also 35 miles from downtown Washington D.C. with easy access to sites to the southwest of the city.
2) Since it is a working farm, the staff can be difficult to locate, however, they were always kind and helpful when we did. They did make a mistake and book us for the wrong month, however, they were able to correct the problem and sites were not a problem in April.
3) Only one restroom is open during the winter and early spring, which was not a problem for us as it was a pleasant walk to the one that was open. The bathroom was not kept clean everyday, however, it was adequate. It is obvious that the bathroom had a propane heater, but it was not turned on while we were there and the bathroom was a bit chilly in the mornings. In general, the bathrooms were old and needed some work.
