General Description: Located on US 17 south of Jacksonville, North Carolina and surrounded on three sides by Camp Lejeune, Cabin Creek Campground is a nice and compact campground. Nearly all of the sites are pull-through and all have full hookups. Amenities include wifi, cable, a small camp store, playground, laundry facilities, rest rooms and showers.
1) Cabin Creek Campgrounds is well designed to provide mostly pull-through sites with ample room between the sites. All sites have full hookups and most have picnic tables.
2) Staff were friendly and helpful. Restrooms were dated but clean. They have only a single toilet for men and women and two common showers that are part of the laundry facilities. Be aware that they clean them from 8-9 every morning, which was a problem some mornings trying to use the restrooms.
3) The occasional noise of over flying Osprey helicopters and other planes can be surprising, especially late at night. There is also the constant noise from the busy highway. Finally, muffled gun shots and explosions from the training exercises at times made it sound like a storm was approaching. It does take some getting used to.
4) There is an Exxon gas station and Food Lion grocery store are within walking distance of the campgrounds.
