General Description: Barton Springs Campground is located on the shores of Normandy Lake and the upper Duck River on the Normandy Lake TVA Reserve. All of the RV sites are pull-through sites with electric and water hookups on a gravel bed. Each site has a picnic table, barbecue grill, and fire ring. All of the sites have lake views with about a third with water access. Along with bathroom/shower facilities, the campground also has a sandy swimming area on the lake and a nearby boat launch.
1) Barton Springs Campground is a relatively small campground with large spacious sites. The volunteers were friendly and helpful, especially during the severe weather we had during the week. There were only a couple of occupied RVs in the campground during the week, although the campground was about 40% full over the weekend, especially those sites along the lake.
2) The bathrooms were neat and clean although they are not heated.
3) During late March the Lake they were just beginning the process of filling the lake for the summer, so even though we had a site with water access, there was a large expanse of gravel before you could get to the water. The swimming area was also above water, although the weather was too cool to think about swimming.
4) Especially for the price, we would stay here again in the future.
