General Description: One of many Corps of Engineers Campgrounds around Allatoona Lake in northern Georgia, McKinney Campground is the only one open year round.  There are a variety of outdoor activities available on Allatoona Lake including boating, fishing, and hiking.  The campground consists of 150 camping sites scattered around five points of land that extend out into the lake.  All of the sites are heavily wooded and most of electric and water hookups.  While most of the sites are back-in there are a number pull-through sites.

Impressions:

1) We choose a pull-through site with easy access into and out of the site.  It was located in the center of the point of land, so we had a view of the lake on three sides.

2) Facilities are very limited, but standard for a COE campground.  The bathroom facilities were heated, clean, and modern although it was about a quarter mile hike from our camping site.  There was also laundry facilities at the closest restroom.
