General Description: Located on J. Percy Priest Lake, southwest of Nashville, Poole Knobs Campground is conveniently located between Nashville and Murfreesboro. It is a medium sized campground with 64 sites for RVs and 23 for tents. The RV sites have water and electric hookups with a surprising number that are pull-through and buddy sites. There is only a single restroom/shower facility for the campground located in the middle at the top of the hill.
1) The campground is an older campground, which means the roads are narrow and windy. While nearly all of the RV campsites are pull-through, the entrances to many of them are narrow and either uphill or downhill. The back-in sites are especially tricky for long rigs since the trees growing close to the road make it difficult to swing the truck around.
2) The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The spent a considerable amount of time assisting us in backing into our site as we negotiated the trees and ditches along the road. As we had truck issues during the week, they were also very helpful in adjusting other campers that had reserved our site as we overstayed our reservation.
3) Although it was a bit of an uphill hike to the only bathroom, it was kept clean and seemed adequate for our needs.
