General Description: Loretta Lynn Ranch is the home of country music legend Loretta Lynn. In addition to her current home where Loretta lives when not on tour are over 3000 acres of forests and streams. Daily tours of her plantation house where she raised her family, the Loretta Lynn’s Museum, and simulated coal mine are available. Free to the public are the small town of Hurricane Mills with multiple shops, grist mill, and doll museum. Lodging is also available in any one of many rustic cabins, primitive camping, and RV parking. The RV sites include full hookups (50 amp) and water/electric sites (30 amp).
1) Loretta Lynn Ranch is a very well maintained facility. The love and care are evident everywhere you look from the RV sites themselves to the country store and laundry/bathroom facilities. At least during early spring you get to pick your site when you check in. Beware that the RV park was built in the 1970s when RVs were not as big. Therefore, the roads are narrow with tight turns and the site we choose was easy to get into, but a challenge to figure out how to get out.
2) The staff are very friendly with campfires Friday and Saturday evenings which included bingo and trivia. They also supplied snacks, including smores, and Loretta Lynn trivia while you play. Very enjoyable time after dark. The country store was only open for the weekend in April where they played Loretta Lynn music during the day. We could hear it in the background at our site.
3) While we did not take any of the tours, we did spend one afternoon exploring the shops and grist museum in Hurricane Mills on the property.
