General Description: Melton Hill Campground is located at the Melton Hill Dam just north of I-40 in Lenoir City, Tennessee. It consists of 55 sites, 9 of which are full hookup sites. All of the sites are back-in and those restricted to handicap are concrete pads. The rest of the sites are gravel with picnic table and fire ring. The sites give a nice view of the dam and river with a public boat ramp next to the campground. Other amenities include a bathhouse and swimming area.
1) This is a small campground with just a few sites with full hookups. The sites restricted to handicap are wide and spacious, but the remaining sites are small. We had to back our RV into the site at a severe angle in order to get it in and could not use the awning as it would have hung out into the road.
2) The staff were very friendly and assisted us in placing the RV into the site in order to make it fit.
3) The bathroom facilities were very modern and clean with solar panels for heating the water and flush systems to conserve water. Unfortunately, they are not heated which made it interesting on cold mornings.
