General Description: Deer Trail Park Campground is located on the Wisconsin River between Nekoosa and Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. It is a large RV park, with a large area for transient campers. All the sites have good shade and adequate room between sites for a picnic table, There are a number of pull through sites for big rigs and all sites come with water and electric hookups. Amenities include bathroom/shower facilities, a small laundry room, swimming pool, boat rentals for fishing on Ross Lake, and a large playground area that includes volleyball, bocce ball, and other activities.
1) The sites are all grassy and the pull through sites are spacious with plenty of shade. The only draw back is you share electric and water pedestals with your neighbor which means the sites go back and forth. This means you share a “front yard” with your other neighbor. As they start by renting every other space, this meant we had a very large area since we had no neighbor in that direction over the weekend.
2) They have activities every weekend over the summer which included a train ride through the campgrounds for the kids, an ice cream social, bingo, and a movie on Saturday night.
3) The bathrooms were old and dirty, especially since the door to the men’s bathroom would not close or fully open as it drug severely on the floor. This was especially a problem over the weekend as the children tracked all kinds of dirt into the bathroom due to the rain.
