General Description: Tyler State Park is conveniently located just north of I-20 and the city of Tyler in northeast Texas. The park is on the shore of a 64 acre spring fed lake with 100 foot tall trees and all the amenities you would expect at a lake including fishing, boating, and swimming. There are also 13 miles of hiking trails in the piney woods which include the Whispering Pine Nature Trail laid out by the CCC. Campsites include tent sites and full hookup sites for large RV.
1) Tyler State Park is a very well designed campground for any size RV. All the full hookup sites are located in one loop with pull-through sites on both sides of the road. It was simple to pull into the site with the hookups between the RV and the road.
2) The bathroom/shower facility was shared between the two campground loops and a bit of a hike from our campsite which was as far as possible from the bathroom. The bathroom was heated and kept very clean all week, even during the weekend when the campground filled up.
