Location: Gaffney, South Carolina
Webpage: RV Park
General Description: An above average KOA Kamground, Spartanburg KOA has all the amenities for a comfortable stay in northwest South Carolina. The most impressive feature was the large loblolly pine trees providing shade for all the sites. Most of the sites are pull-through making parking easy and all sites have full hookups. There is also a swimming pool, 18 hole miniature golf course, a game room, laundry facilities, and camp store with Hunt’s Brothers pizza. The bathrooms are spacious, clean and modern.
1) It is conveniently located right off I-35 between Charlotte and Spartanburg, but this also means there is traffic noise. There are sufficient trees blocking most of the noise and we could not hear it from within the RV. With the large trees between the sites, the campground felt more like a state park with all the amenities of an RV park. The sites are all sandy with some grass, but the shade from the trees more than made up for it. I would certainly stay here again.
2) Both Cowpens and Kings Mountain National Battlefields are both within 30 minutes of the campground, so for us it was a great location.
3) The staff were very friendly and helpful and the bathroom facilities were top notch. One of the best KOA campgrounds we have stayed in.
