General Description: Located on Parker Island in beautiful Lake Augusta, a part of the Susquehanna River, Fantasy Island Campground has all the amenities for seasonal and transient campers. With approximately 100 sites that offer a mix of pull-through and back-in sites all with full hookups. Along with great views of the lake, the other amenities include a swimming pool, laundry facilities, bathroom/showers, a rec-room, propane, and weekend activities throughout the season.
1) The office consists of a short extension onto the 1900 vintage carousel house, the only surviving structure from when this was an amusement park with roller coaster, Ferris wheel, dance hall, and carousel.
2) While there maybe 100 sites in the campground, nearly all of them are taken with seasonal campers. The residents are doing a good job maintaining their sites, however, this leaves only about a dozen sites for transients and all of them are back-in sites. There is sufficient room between the sites for a picnic table and fire ring on a concrete patio and the pads are all paved or concrete.
3) The bathroom facilities are spacious and clean.
4) Since the campground is on an island, it is quiet even though it is just off the highway that crosses the island. It also makes it very convenient for shopping as Sunbury is just over the bridge to the east and Northumberland over the bridge to the west.
