Lake Chicot State Park

Location: Lake Village, Arkansas

Webpage: Arkansas State Park

General Description: Located on the shores of Lake Chicot, the largest oxbow lake in North America, Lake Chicot State Park is a picturesque location to spend a weekend or a couple of weeks.  Since it is located only a few miles from the Mississippi River, the largest migratory fly-way, it is a perfect location for bird watching or fishing.  The campgrounds consist of 122 campsites for everything from tents to full sized RVs.  The RV sites have full hookups with 50 amp service.  Other amenities include playground equipment, a marina, and a seasonal swimming pool.

1) Lake Chicot State Park is a very nice park that is well maintained.  The RV sites are spacious with paved pads, picnic table and fire ring.  Our site was very level with plenty of room to back in the RV.  Except for the rain for all but two days during the week, we enjoyed our stay in the park.  It was also nice that the trash containers were scattered out around the campground making it very easy to dispose of the trash.

2) The bathrooms/showers were modern and kept very clean all week.  Except for the muddy conditions most of the week which forced us to walk around the campgrounds on the road instead of cutting through directly, we were well satisfied with the bathroom.  The staff in the office were friendly and efficient.
