General Description: Freeman Lake Park is the largest city park in Elizabethtown, Kentucky featuring a 170 acre lake, multiple picnic areas and pavilions, tennis courts, playgrounds, hiking/biking trails, volleyball courts, and a 18 hole disc golf course.
1) This is very well maintained city park within Elizabethtown. The lake provides a nice venue for a relaxing atmosphere. The disc golf course is mostly away from the lake and picnic areas, so you don’t have to be concerned about people in the way. Most of the course is wide open with only a few trees and has a variety of distances available. All tee boxes are concrete pads with signs showing the fairway and the baskets are well marked.
2) The front 9 are all away from the lake and in open terrain. There are a couple of challenging basket locations hidden into the trees along the edge of the park. The back 9 are approach the lake with a few challenging fairways right along the lake. Be warned that hole 13 is no longer available as they have placed a fenced in dog park across the fairway. The local club is working on plans to relocate the fairway. Fairways 14-16 are the challenging fairways. Fairway 14 begins with a very narrow path along the lake with heavy brush. Unless you can hook the disc to the left you are likely to leave it in the lake. Fairway 15 approaches the lake at an angle so be careful not to overshoot the basket. Finally, fairway 16 launches directly across a small inlet of the lake to the basket on a small spit of land. This fairway is dangerous in all directions, short, long, left or right. Only a good place shot will stay dry!
