General Description: Canoe River Campground is a wooded campground conveniently located off or I-495 south of Boston near the town of Mansfield. It is a medium size campground with many RV and test sites. Most of the sites are back-in, but there are a few pull through sites. Guests have a choice of facilities from electricity only to full hookups. Amenities include restrooms/showers, propane, playground, baseball field, basketball court, and canoe, kayak, paddleboat, and rowboat rentals.
1) The staff were friendly and very helpful in understanding the commuter railroad into Boston. They offer a limo-service to the train station during the week. On the weekends there is plenty of parking at the train station, which is free on the weekends, so we drove ourselves.
2) The restroom facilities are modern and kept very clean. However, the showers are metered, which means they cost money for the water.
3) Our site was on an upper meadow with full hookups and was an easy pull-through site. It was a bit of a hike to the restroom, but we enjoyed the site.
