Location: New Site, Mississippi
Webpage: COE Campground
General Description: Piney Grove Campground is along the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in northeastern Mississippi. This man-made waterway connects the two rivers and PIney Grove is on Bay Springs Lake on a peninsula nearly surrounded by water. Most sites are back-in, although there are a few pull-through sites of the 141 campsites. Amenities include bathroom/shower facilities, a laundry room, paved basketball courts, and playground equipment. Activities include boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking.
1) This is another very nice COE campground along the Tenn-Tom waterway. All of the sites are wooded with plenty of room between them. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and small stone pedestal serving table.
2) The bathrooms are kept very clean and stocked. Unlike many campgrounds with basketball courts, these even had the boundary lines and free throw lines painted on the concrete.
3) Within the campgrounds there is a short nature trail that winds its way down to the lake and back in an approximate 1 mile loop.
